13/3/10 - Six Foot Track Marathon
Congratulations to Tim Yates (6:26:19), Garry Keir (6:27:28) and Bob Fickel (6:38:40) who have all completed the 45km bush run through the Blue Mountains from Katoomba to Jenolan Caves.
13/3/10 - Athletic Track Renovations

Sylvania Waters Athletic Track is now closed until 28
April 2010 for major renovations to the track surface and surrounds. During the closure, Southside Masters weekly competition will be relocated to the grass track at Waratah Park Athletic Centre. Event starting times will be unchanged from the normal program. The road race will be run on the nearby bicycle track - please be careful when sharing the course with cyclists. Parking is via Rawson Avenue. See you there! |

7/3/10 - Orange Running Festival
Congratulations to Magda Karimali-Poulos for winning the women's half marathon in the time of 1:21:56. The event also featured Helen Simon and John Simon who walked the 10km race finishing in 1:46:01.
28/2/10 - Athletic Track Renovations
Sylvania Waters Athletic Track will be closed for six weeks from 15 March to 28 April 2010 for major renovations. Further information will be posted here as soon as it becomes available.
21/2/10 - Sri Chinmoy Half Marathon
A great showing by Southside Masters runners at Centennial Park with Chadi Elashkar finishing first (1:16:14) and Thien Vuong second (1:21:35) in the men's open category; and Magda Karimali-Poulos finishing first (1:26:08) in the women's open category.
21/2/10 - Sydney Marathon Clinic
Tim Yates (1:56:35) and Bob Fickel (2:33:27) completed the 25km road race at Smithfield.
26/1/10 - Glenbrook Fatathon
Garry Keir completed the 34km bush run in 3:57:15.
26/1/10 - Australia Day Fun Runs
A number of Southside Masters runners were involved in fun runs on Australia Day. The Menai Marketplace runs saw Chadi Elashkar win the 8km event, while Brad Plummer finished 3rd in the 3km run. At Canterbury Lyn Delaney (22:28) was first female and Kim Delaney (21:24) was 3rd in M50+ over 5km. Southside Results from Menai
23/1/10 - New Club Record
Todd Peters has broken the 800m track club record with his time of 2:09. This breaks the previous best time of 2:10 that was set by Thien Vuong on 23/7/09. Congratulations Todd.
17/1/10 - Sydney Marathon Clinic
Bob Fickel completed the half marathon in 2:07:33. Aaron Gentle (29:35) and Michael Gentle (33:19) ran the 5km event.
10/1/10 - Cadbury Marathon
Bob Fickel continues to close in on 200 marathons after he finished his 197th marathon in Hobart. Bob's time was 4:26:41.
